Dr. Upham’s research interests include nonlinear optics, nanophotonics and nanofabrication, with particular focus on low index media, fine control of optical modes and nonlinear microscopy. Initially studying Physics and Mathematics at Waterloo, he went on to do his graduate studies at the University of Kyoto. He joined Prof. Boyd’s Quantum Photonics group in 2012. His favourite part of his job is fostering a stimulating, inclusive group environment for investigating new physics.
