Sisira Suresh is a PhD student in Boyd’s group working in metamaterials, nanophotonics and epsilon-near-zero media. Prior to joining PhD, she worked as an optical test engineer in Elphic Photonic-Inc in Canada, where she helped in the automation of experimental set up for characterizing on-chip lasers. She holds a Master’s degree in Physics, that investigated the nonlinear optical properties of epsilon-near-zero metamaterials. She previously worked as a junior research fellow at International Advance Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI) in India, where her main responsibilities included the fabrication and characterization of anti-reflection coatings for energy and environmental applications.
